• Material: Klein spiral cutters for aluminium are classified according to the material they are made of: we offer both single-flute spiral cutters made of HSS-E steel (with 5% cobalt content) and spiral cutters made of solid carbide (HW). Our tools are manufactured from premium materials and have to pass scrupulous quality tests.
• Cutting edges: Generally, it is recommended to work aluminium or light alloys with cutters with 1 (single flute) or 2 (double flute) cutting edges. Fewer cutting edges means more space for chips to flow out, which reduces the possibility of heat peaks due to friction and chip clogging.
• KleinDIA® coating: As mentioned a few lines above, this is a coating that is laid at low temperature with a thickness of about 1 micron, so it does not alter the characteristics of the tool or cutter to which it is applied in any way. The high hardness comes from the simultaneous presence of SP2+SP3 hybridised carbon (graphite + diamond).
